Before I rank the five candidates it is just fair that I give a brief history of each of them. Confucius real name was Kong qiu or zongni. He was as born in year 551BC. The second candidate is qin shi huang whose personal name was ying zeng. He was king of the Chinese state of qin from 246bce to 221 bce during warring periods. The third candidate is a female by the name empress Wu. This is the only woman in Chinese history to assume the title of an empress regnant (Ebrey 155). The fourth candidate is Mao Zedong a political revolutionist who led china from 1948nto 1976. Finally, the fifth candidate is Wang yucheng who was a Chinese poet and lived between 954-1001.

Ill discuss the strengths of each of the five candidates and the make a conclusion later as to who is the best candidate and why starting with Confucius all the way to the fifth candidate who is wang fucheng.

Confucius was a great thinker and a philosopher who emphasized on personal and government morality, correctness of social relationships justice and sincerity. (Ebrey101) Confucius was also a perfectionist. His strength as a candidate for the post of the CEO is seen in the fact that he is a great thinker and strives for perfection. His weaknesses however is that he is an inventor of nothing despite the fact that he is a great thinker. His other weaknesses are he is a conservatist who believes in traditions and not open to change.

Our second candidate is qin shi huang. Candidate is credited for having built the first version of chinas great walls and the massive national road system but all at expense of numerous lives. For stability in his kingdom he burnt many books that meant at criticizing him or enlightening people about their rights. Although this candidate has the strength in initiating great projects we may not employ him because he may sacrifice our employees in the name of executing projects and again he may not make a good ceo because he is not open to criticism.

Empress wu is our third candidate. This is a woman whose strength can only be seen in grabbing power. In actual sense we may not take this as strength. In fact what happened when she grabbed power is that people became resistant and uncooperative. She thus could only impose things but could not rule in a democratic way. Before we even get to the conclusion we automatically eliminate this candidate as we would like to have a ceo who the employees will not cooperate with to make our company successful.

The fourth candidate is mao Zedong. His strength includes being a political strategist a trait he can employ if we hire him as our ceo. His weaknesses however is that at some point in time he made some political programs that led to famine which led to loss of lives, cultural values deteriorated and economy of china went down hill.

Wang yucheng is our fifth candidate. This candidate had once been an employee of the government. His problem was that he was a forthright critic of the government a factor that made him to be banished from the government. There is nothing wrong with being a critic but most of the times critics when given a chance they end up doing what those they had been criticizing were doing or something even worse than that.

According to me Confucius is the candidate I would hire. The reason is he is a great thinker and his morals are upright so employees in our company may cooperate with him. It is true that he has his weaknesses but from the choice of the other four he stands out as the best candidate. Wang yucheng would rank second, mao Zedong third, Empress wu fourth and qin shi huang fifth.
